Þóra Breiðfjörð
1970
Iceland

Þóra Breiðfjörð graduated from The Art Academy of Iceland, first from The Ceramic Department and then from The Art Teacher Department.

Þóra is from a small town at the southcoast of Iceland, called Hafnarfjörður, but her roots are in Breiðafjörður and the Vestfjords.

Þóra teaches children age 5-12 at The Art school of Kópavogur, besides working at her own studio. Þóra´s products are mostly made from clay, but she also uses items that she finds and converts them.

Beside eco-friendly living she is interested in forms, colors and light and is looking for lightness and honesty in her work and most of all, a “bling” (bling!).

Resently she developed new sources in painting, were she wants to explore colors and more colors. Not only on the canvas but on all kinds of things that are nearby in her enviroment......people who know her should be aware of their things when she has the pencil in her hands.
